If you're like me, there's only one thing more interesting than a beautiful woman's nude body - her mind. If you've ever been to a strip club you will probably have noticed this; most of the guys in there are more interested in enticing the girls to sit and talk with them than they are in seeing the girls dance naked.

We see this same truth illustrated by the Page 3 Girls of Britain. For those of you who have been living under a rock, the Page 3 Girls are the beautiful women whose topless photos regularly grace the 3rd page of some of the British tabloids. Many of the girls become very popular, appearing again and again, and some even go on to careers in modeling, television and film. Yet why do men want to see the same girls naked time and again? Surely once we've seen what a woman has under her clothes our fascination should be satisfied. But it never is. In fact, many men still remember the first Page 3 Girl they ever saw, and many of the girls have cyber temples erected in their honour by their many fans. Picture after picture, the fascination never goes away.

This is because photos of naked women only imply who the model really is, they never really tell us anything about her. They promise intimacy. Instead they propel imagination. Who is she? Why does she take her clothes off? Does she enjoy it? How does she come to it? Where does she want to take it? Where does she want it to take her? God bless us, we men really do want to know!

Today it is my great pleasure to have a chance to ask one of these beautiful women anything I want. Her name is Sυе Sіmmоnds and she is a classic Page 3 Girl. This is my chance to learn some of the secrets of a nude model's soul.

Q. Sue, here's what we're all burning to know.You began modeling in the 80's is that correct?

A. Yes in about 1985.

Q. Did you do any modeling before Page 3 or was it your first experience?

A. I had done a couple of library shoots in the Caribbean before.

Q. Were you a precocious child or very well behaved?

A. I think I was quite normal, although I came from a family of professional footballers, my father and brother were, and my grandad was a pro boxer, so maybe entertaining was in the blood.

Q. What is your first sexual memory from childhood and how did it effect you?

A. Probably a fumble in the 3rd year...

Q. What were your family's views on sex and nudity?

A. My family were ok about it, my brother thought as he was younger that a Page 3 Girl as a sister was ok.

Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A. A model.

Q. What did you think of Page 3 Girls when you were growing up?

A. At about 15 I thought that's what I want to be.

Q. How did you become a Page 3 Girl?

A. I sent a pic to Gеоff Wооtоn and then went to meet him, he signed me up on his books. He then sent my stuff to Bеv Gооdwаy. Bev then invited me for a shoot and after that I was in the Sun.

Q. When was your first appearance on Page 3?

A. 1985

Q. What did you think when you first saw yourself on Page 3?

A. I thought wow, this is it. Go for it girl.

Q. What kind of reactions to your photos were you expecting from those around you?

A. I really didnt care to be honest. I knew what I wanted and was aiming to get it.

Q. Back in the 80's nude modeling was not as respected a course to fame and fortune as it is now. The way I see it, the Page 3 girls of the 80's like you and Sаm Fоx were the pioneers of acceptible nude modeling. It took a lot more guts to model nude in a daily newspaper back then than it does now. You have helped paved the way for all the girls who model nude now and then go on to acting or tv presenting and such. Do you ever feel responsible or even proud for making the beauty of the female body more acceptible and respected?

A. Yes I do. I remember all the grief from Clаіr Shоrt etc. We also I think paved the way for big fees for the girls.

Q. Do you ever resent the attention and opportunities the girls get now that posing nude is so much more admired?

A. No because I believe the heyday of Page 3 and the real glamour was in my era. At that time most men in the street could name 15 Page 3 Girls. I'm not sure they could now.

Q. Can you tell us some of the opportunities that came your way as a result of your nude modeling?

A. I earned huge fees on commissioned shoots for US and UK Penthouse. I saw the world, was featured in other top shelf mags and never once opened my legs (at that time).

Q. Have you ever regretted posing nude?

A. Never

Q. Would you do it again?

A. Yes, and still do!

Q. Okay, indulge me on this question, if you would. When a woman takes off her clothes for a photo - any photo - she is agreeing to let every single male of the species from now to eternity see her nude body whenever he wants. For this we are all eternally grateful, believe me. But how does that make you feel? Do you like it, or does it make you a little uncomfortable?

A. I dont mind. Like most models, modelling is a job done for the money. We can count to 24 and 36 really well.

Q. What would you tell a young girl thinking of posing for Page 3?

A. Get an accountanrt and save 50% of your money.

Q. How would you like men to think of Page 3 Girls?

A. As part of their upbringing.

Q. I've done a lot of searching for pictures of you online and have found relatively few compared to many other girls. How long did you do Page 3 work?

A. I did Page 3 for 7 years. 90% of my stuff is on my own site. I became a recluse for many years. Collecting antiques and restoring my 150 year old house.

Q. What do you do for a living now?

A. Modelling and my website and antiques.

Q. You are one of the few Page 3 Girls with her own website? Do you do it yourself like some girls?

A. My website is doing ok.

Q. Do you have any future plans for it?

A. It will act as a portal to a large site with all manner of girls etc. on it.

Q. We spoke about Kіrstеn Imrіе recently of how she has been reduced in recent months to living on the street. At one time she was one of the most popular and sought after Page 3 girls around. Can you tell us how this makes you feel? What do you think was really responsible? Is it her own fault, or has society failed her in some way?

A. I like Kisten and think that the industry has forgotten her. She is a fantastic model. She had a bad time, and all those people who cashed in on her in her day just turned thier back. She is welcome in my house any day.

Q. Do you have any favourite page 3 Girls?

A. Linda, Cаrrоn Mаrtіn, Dіаnnе Wіllоυghby, Kirsten, Jаnіnе Jаmеs...

Q. Have you formed any friendships with other nude models or Page 3 Girls?

A. Cаrrоn Mаrtіn.

Q. Do you have any future plans to return to modeling?

A. I still work but....I would like the possibility to do some shots with the above mentioned girls....still ok in their 30s!
