Sprеаdіng Pеtаls

Do you like the picture above? Do you find it beautiful? Does it turn you on?

I think, the answer in most cases will be "no". The people who aren't shocked by this picture will probably be bored by it instead.

And it doesn't really matter if you're a man or a woman. Men will be turned off by the flowers; women will be turned off by the woman's spread legs.

My goal when I created this drawing was to depict an overtly sexual woman surrounded by exquisite beauty. It's purpose was to deal with the question: does a beautiful woman's beauty make her sexuality beautiful or does her sexuality make her beauty something bad?

Which rubs off on which?

Does beauty enoble sex or does sex degrade beauty? Are beautiful women denegraded by sexual imagery or does their beauty sell us on sex?

It all boils down to whether you believe sex is moral or immoral, good or bad. If you think - deep down - that sex is immoral, then seeing a beautiful woman being sexual will disappoint you, and it will taint her beauty for you. Imаgіnе Grаcе Kelly spreading her legs.

On the other hand if you have somehow managed to escape being indoctrinated into the modern cult of shame and have miraculously come up with the conviction that sex is good - the most exalted action possible between two people - then seeing a beautiful woman being sexual holds a special reward for you.

Personally, I love this picture.

I think it's beautiful.

And it turns me on.
