beauty backlash - The name for the increasing moral, cultural, and political attacks on female beauty since 9/11. One might have expected America and the free world to rally self-righteously behind its unique icons and traditions of free expression - including female beauty - after being attacked so visciously for them. But instead, in a misguided and immoral attempt to placate its attackers, Americans have joined the terrorists in destroying the very things that make it great, including its modern and heroic expressions of female beauty, deriding it in the media, denouncing it in our schools, and illegalising it wherever possible.
