Whіch Is Mоrе Bеаυtіfυl?

Men are often chastised for obsessing over a woman's beauty.

"Women are not just bodies", the scolding goes, "they have minds too!"

What these critics don't realize - or don't want to - is that love of female beauty does encourage men to see that women are not just bodies, but minds as well.

Take the drawings above for example. For 5 years now I've been drawing the same subject: a beautiful woman proudly displaying her body without a care in the world. The drawing on the left is the first of hundreds that I've done since, all trying to capture the same thing. The one on the right is one of my most recent. (Please excuse the poor condition of the first drawing. It's over 5 years old and I did it at a time when I knew nothing about pencils so I used a very hard one which warped the paper and made it unscanable. To get a better look at the drawings just click on them. -db)

While you can see for yourself that I have become much more technically proficient and knowledgable about female anatomy, somehow the more recent picture lacks the same sense of life of the very first drawing. Inspite of its flaws, the first drawing is more inspiring. It has something the 2nd lacks.

Can you guess what it is?

The woman in the first drawing is thinking about something. Whatever it is, she is keeping those thoughts to herself. Obviously she has a mind. And it's a mind of her own.

It is the obviousness of her mind that makes her more beautiful than the woman in the second picture.

A woman with a mind is more beautiful than one without. It's as simple as that. So if you want men to notice a woman's mind, you should not discourage but encourage them to admire beauty.
