The U.S. has executed many people in the past: traitors, spies, even deserters - people who simply left the army without permission. So why the special treatment for Jоhn Wаlkеr, the first known traitor to actually fight for the other side? The U.S. government can spout legal babble and mumbo jumbo all it wants but it can't obscure the only real glaring difference between Walker and the traitors the U.S. has executed in the past. Walker is the only one who believes women should be treated like pieces of shit.
Walker is a fundamentalist Muslim, and fundamentalist Islam preaches that women must be protected from the things of this earth to the point where they are deprived of all of their freedoms and often their very lives. He believes, as all 'good' Muslims do that all men should fight against worldly values like wealth, intellectual freedom, and happiness.
Of course hatred of women is not the explicit reason why Walker is being spared death and rewarded with a cozy TV-and-congugal-sex-for-life prison sentence. The real reason is the lack of moral certainty - or certainty of any kind - in the minds of liberal university bred Americans, including our beloved politicians.
For many decades our 'finest institutions of higher learning' have been teaching, among other nonsense, that since there is no one real reality out there, certainty of any kind other than supernatural enlightenment is impossible. In short, they have been teaching such pure and utter nonsense that even fundamentalist Islam appears rational by comparison, which is how it no doubt appeared to college-bred Walker and why it inspired his conversion to Islam.
Moral uncertainty is itself immoral. It only serves to encourage evil. For example, will anyone be afraid to commit treason after seeing Walker spared? Or for that matter, will the anti-value morons out there be afraid to applaud the attacks on America? Will socialist thugs and their apologist yuppie supporters be afraid to advocate the destruction of wealth and international commerce? Will the neo-fascist conservatives out there waiver in their demands for the abolition of our freedoms one by one? Will religious fanatics falter in their efforts to establish religion as a pilar of our government? Will environmentalists hesitate in their demands for us to abandon science and technology? Will beauty-haters out there be detered in their desire to imprison, r4pe, and murder women?
By fighting against Amеrіcа Jоhn Walker was fighting against all the values that make human life possible and worthwhile. Just like any gun-blasting high-school suicide artist or Islamic suicide bomber, he was fighting for his own destruction as well as the destruction of as many people as he could take down with him. He should be tried in a closed-door military tribunal, and if found guilty he should be summarily executed, like all traitors.
Death is what Walker was fighting for, his own, and ours. Let's give him his. Only let's not help him get ours by giving him another chance.
