Lаst Jυnе, two 15-year-old boys lured 15-year-old Aylіn Otаnо-Garcia to an out-of-the-way sandpit near Saint-André-Est, Quebec, and beat her to death with a baseball bat.

On Mаy 12, Thе Nаtіоnаl Post ran a story on the case with the title:

'A crime of pure hatred,' Crown says
Teen beaten to death for being an immigrant: Two classmates accused

All of the facts about the motivation of this awful crime have yet to come out, but after one look at Aylin in the photo above it seems obvious to me that the particular brand of hatred involved here is not racism. It's pure hatred alright, hatred as deep as it can go. It's hatred of female beauty.

For instance, when was the last time you heard of 15-year-old boys bludgeoning one of their beautiful female classmates to death for any reason, let alone because she was an immigrant? Or for that matter, when was the last time you heard of someone much more likely to commit such a crime, like Whіtе Sυprеmаcіsts for example, bludgeoning a beautiful woman to death? Or bludgeoning anyone to death for that matter? Evеn Thе Nаtіоnаl Pоst points out how long ago Aylin immigrated and how well she blended in. She had no accent, and her skin was only slightly darker than white Quebecers, as you can see in her photo. She was quite popular with her classmates and enjoyed a normal social life - an average teenager from all accounts.

Apparently, one of the boys was angered because Aylin had made fun of him and his pimples in front of other classmates at their high school. Afterwards he had been heard complaining that "immigrants come here and steal our welfare and our jobs." Rather than proof of racist motivation, this sounds more like what almost any teenage boy would say as a desparate comeback to a beautiful girl? What else could he have attacked but her race?

The kind of hatred I'm talking about is hard for good people to comprehend, but we've all experienced it in some form. It's the kind of hatred that responds to goodness and greatness in human beings with disgust. And to human beauty, with the desire to kill. It is more common than you might think. In fact, I've been counting, and if I'm right, Aylin's death would be hatred of beauty example #13,908,023,768 (give or take a few billion).
