Islamic leaders outraged by J-Lo's naked mid-section

In my reaction page to the Sept. 11 terrorist jet-bombings, I warned that if we didn't start valuing individual rights (including the right to be beautiful) over our fear of offending Muslims with our love of freedom, that Muslims would waste no time in using our fear of offending them as a way to destroy our freedoms. I was right. In fact, it has already begun. Appаrеntly Mυslіm leaders are outraged by a story featured on CNN in which an MTV reporter showed a magazine with a scantily clad Jеnnіfеr Lоpеz on the cover to a group of Afghan children.

What does female beauty have to do with Islamic terrorism?

Plenty:

Several of the terrorists who went to their deaths in the Sept 11 jet-bombings spent their last night of life on earth in a strip club.
Pаkіstаnі Islаmіc fundamentalist terrorist groups threaten to shoot any woman who goes out in public without full body covering.
6 Nigerian female university students gunned down and killed in fundmanetalist Islamic uprising.
And most recently, a Palestinian suicide bomber kills self and 20 Israeli young people, mostly teenage girls. The fact that these young women were young, attractive, sexy, and enjoying life gives us a real hint as to the true relationship between female beauty and Islamic terrorism.

Should sexy women get scholarships just for being beautiful?

Normally we would say no. Unless the scholarship is for a modeling school. But considering that attractive young women are being killed at an unprecedented rate these days, what with 20 young women being killed by a Palestinian suicide bomber a couple weeks ago and 6 Nigerian university students being killed by a mob in Nigeria a few weeks before, I'd say that Stuff magazine's scholarship for babes couldn't have come at a better time. Estella's got guts. Ever since she left Olympic synchronized swimming, we've been following the modelling and now acting career of Estеllа Wаrrеn. (And it's not only because she is from a small town 30 minutes away from where I grew up, either.) It's because it must have taken a lot of guts to leave a promising future in Olympic sports to try to be a model and actress, and we like guts. We like how unashamed of her body Estella is, both of its athletic prowess, and of course, it's remarkable beauty.

Hеіdі Klυm poses nude for science

We at Body in Mind are not fond of Esquire magazine. It seems to be run by a bunch of guys who are convinced female beauty is evil but who go ahead and use it to sell their magazine anyway. In the past they have repeatedly used images of supermodels to sell their magazine and have repeatedly put themselves - and the supermodels - down for doing it. The latest example of their hypocrisy and their boorish behaviour towards the very women who sell their magazine is the feature in the current issue which is about proposed patents on human genes, an article they've brilliantly illustrated with nude studies of Hеіdі Klυm's genetically marvellous body. Their response? "Truth is, we're not quite sure what to say about Hеіdі Klυm."
