Thе Sphіnx

"In Grееk legend, [the Sphinx was] a winged lion with the head
and breast of a woman, which plagued Thebes and ate those
who could not solve her riddles."

- Thе Mеrrіаm-Webster Pоckеt Dіctіоnаry of Prоpеr Nаmеs.

Female beauty is the Sphinx.

And it asks every man a timeless question.

If a man gives the wrong answer to her question, the Sphinx will rip him apart and devour him; but if he gives the right answer she will allow him to pursue his goal.

The question female beauty asks is:

"Is female beauty good or bad."

A very simple question, yes?

No. Remember the Sphinx is famous for asking tricky questions.

If a man answers 'bad' he pronounces his own depravity for desiring it. Thus he gives up any claim to self-esteem. Usually he swallows Altruism as a means to appease his resulting guilt. From then on, self-sacrifice becomes his only response to conflict. Altruism rips the man from his motivation and leaves him without any means to his goals. Instead it makes him the means to the ends of any altruistic vulture that cares to take a piece of him - of anyone who demands he sacrifice himself.

If, however, a man answers that female beauty is 'good', he declares himself good for loving it, and he seeks a beautiful woman as his reward for being good. He adopts Individualism as his moral code. His self-esteem gives him permission to pursue and obtain his personal values (both spiritual and material), values which turn his soul into a shining silver sword, uncorruptible and strong, and his home into a castle, safe and inviolate - things any beautiful lady could fall madly in love with.

Individualism or Altruism.

Happiness or self-immolation.

Is female beauty good or bad?"

Thе Sphіnx is waiting for your answer.
