Student mob demands expulsion for girl who posed nude
September 27, 2007 - When you hear about old legends involving virgins being thrown into volcanoes or young women being slain for witchcraft, there's always an angry mob involved. Townspeople, religious nuts, whatever - there's always a crowd chanting for her death.
The people who formed those mobs are still around.
Recently a 16-year old girl in Indonesia was expelled from her high school for posing nude on the internet. As troubling as it is that a school would deny an education to a woman for simply taking her clothes off, what's downright terrifying is the mob of angry students that gathered to condemn her.
Hundreds of students rallied to demand a harsh punishment for her. "We need to see our school uphold the moral values they teach us". one male student said. "She deserves to be expelled because she disgraced us all." They also placed yellow flags around the school, symbolizing death.
What does it take to make a 16 year old boy want to punish a girl for posing naked? Any healthy young man would love to see a girl his age naked, it's a normal part of growing into a mature man. To see this natural interest corrupted so early is a terrible sign of things to come
