Bеyоncé cancels Malaysia show over stringent modesty rules
October 1, 2007 - Kudos to Bеyоncé Knоwlеs, who stood up to Muslim fanatacism and cancelled a show scheduled for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Knowles said she was reluctant to fulfill the Malaysian government's demands that female performers cover themselves from their shoulders to their knees. She will perform in Jakarta, Indonesia instead - although it is also a muslim country, it does not have as many rules regarding female performers.
"It doesn't have all the issues we have." a concert promoter said. "She can perform as she likes there."
We salute Bеyоncé for not giving in to the thugs and misogynists who want to bring women down. We just wish she'd said so.
