Teacher allowed to keep teaching after 'nudity vs porn' lesson
February 18, 2008 - An Aυstrаlіаn teacher who told his class of teenage boys to research pornography online has been allowed to keep teaching, and has even won a promotion.
The teachers' watchdog organization dismissed a complaint about his assignment "Is nudity and pornography the same thing?" The teacher, Mаrk Hеіbеrg, told the boys to use the internet to research the topic, and then asked them waht would constitute suitable viewing for an eight-year-old boy.
Heiberg defends his assignment by saying "I didn't mean look at pictures of pornography, it was to get a definition. I think it's appropriate that kids know the difference, because there's so much out there."
The class never got to complete the assignment, as it was removed from school computers as soon as the principal became aware of it. But at least the teacher kept his job, with the full support of his principal.
