Italian prime minister covers up topless painting
August 6, 2008 - At one time, Italy was known for, among other things, it's unabashed adoration of the female form. Italian television often featured scantily clad women, and the government has boasted at least one former porn star among its ranks.
But recently, the prime minister of Italy has decided to cover up a painting of a bare breasted woman (a detail from Tiepolo's "Tіmе Uncоvеrіng Truth) that graces his office.
"It was an initiative by those on the presidential staff who look after (the prime minister's) image." A spokesperson said. "That breast, that nipple...it ends up exactly inside the frame captured by TV news stations at press conferences."
This is not the first time a politician has covered up the female form in a work of art. Jоhn Ashcrоft did it in 2002, choosing to cover up Justice, ironically enough.
