Saudi clerics want women banned from media
March 25, 2009 - A group of hardline Saudi clerics - one wonders if there's any other kind - have told the government they want to ban women from appearing on television and to prohibit pictures of them from appearing in print.
The 35 clerics decried the government's allowing the import of "obscene newspapers and magazines that are filled with deviant thought and pictures of beautiful women on its covers and inside"
It's telling that it's only the beauty haters who have no trouble identifying what's beautiful and what isn't. These monsters know precisely what beauty is when they see it, and they know what it represents. That's why of all the truly 'deviant' things they could be protesting, they instead choose to vilify images of beautiful women and televised examples of women pursuing values like normal human beings.
