"Eye Candy" caddies banned from UK golf for 'devaluing' game
Sept 3, 2009 - It was a great idea. For 230 GBP (about $500) per round, golfers in the UK were able to hire gorgeous women to act as their caddies. The women were well-versed in rules and etiquette and were more than easy on the eyes.
But now that's all over.
Leaderboard, the owner of several upscale golf courses has said that the tight fitting outfits of the women are unprofessional.
"Exploiting outmoded notions of golf as a male bastion is not 'just a bit of fun' - it damages the reputation of the sport as a whole as well as its appeal to members of the younger generation of either sex". a spokesman said.
First of all - it's golf. Calling it a sport is a bit of a stretch. Even if you do admit that golf is a sport, sports are simply games, something to pass the time and have a bit of fun with. Why shouldn't the people who enjoy this game (predominantly men) get to have a bit of fun spending some time with attractive women?
But more importantly, why should people be allowed to discriminate against women simply because they're beautiful? Would any of us be okay with losing our jobs simply because of how attractive we are?
We wish people were more concerned about devaluing beautiful women than about devaluing golf. Saying outright that beautiful women - thus women - are a threat to everyone is not only outrageous it should be considered hate speech and those guilty of it should be charged.
