Breaking the Bеаυty Bаrrіеr

Sometimes we get so busy defending beauty these days that we're afraid we neglect the real mission of Body in Mind, which is to demonstrate and celebrate the power of female beauty - especially the kind of beauty and inspiration that happens when you mix female beauty with the human mind. With this feature we hope to make up for some of our neglect.

Female beauty and the human mind are the two greatest powers at man's disposal, and their union can eventually bring the whole of human existence into the light of a shining new era, an era in which the free mind is worshipped more than its greatest enemy today: environmentalism; and an era when female beauty's power to inspire that mind is revered more than its greatest enemy today: feminism.

We are told so often these days that the mind and female beauty are a danger to everyday life that we never make the effort to imagine and enjoy what happens when they are both actually let lose to move us as and where they will. We are so often told that human beings are scum or viruses, that we do not trust ourselves to play freely with such potent possessions as intelligence and sexuality. We decry every new invention as a doomsday devise, and wonder why irrationality is on the rise. We openly declare the depraved nature of admiring beauty, and wonder why such depictions of beauty as we do see are becoming more and more depraved.

Okay, occasionally we see people win the excruciating battle for a new idea and it proves to be the great boon its inventors promised us, only to discover that the reason the idea was hated was not because it posed a threat, but because it was an idea, plain and simple, hated by people who hate all ideas, period. And yes, in the realm of beauty, we occasionally see women attain the right to public toplessness for women, only to discover that the reason women do not go topless all the time is not because it's against the law, but because they are ashamed of their bodies, and afraid of how others will think of them.

This is not the way it is supposed to be; this is not the way mankind will survive; and this is not how we see things here at Body in MInd. Female beauty is meant to make men think, to aspire to greatness and accomplishment, to inspire them to create and protect their highest values - skill, art, wealth, grandeur, reason, character, love.

Today's newest gallery is lamentably small, but represents something very great indeed: an intellectual and aesthetic departure from the dismal views man has held of the mind and female beauty for most of his history, and a peek into a world where man has never been, but might reach one day if he is lucky, or rather, if he is smart, and starts valuing female beauty for it's real virtue: its power to make us fully human in the best ways, ways we've barely dared imagine or explore.

This gallery dares. In fact, we think this gallery is so important that we've made the medium resolution version available to everyone. Our members - the lucky ducks - will be able to see the hi-res versions. As you will see it is an awkward gallery, awkward in the way baby animals are, but also like baby animals, full of life, exuberance, and the unfailing energy of a life wanting desparately to be lived, but not quite knowing even how to walk. It's a gallery in which young men hone their talents to perform what only human beings can do, doing it in the presence of a lovely, topless young woman who is completely at home being the unselfconscious foil against which these young men strain to achieve and excell, and by whose beauty they are rewarded, for trying, and for succeeding.

We're all used to seeing sexuality depicted with greater and greater explicitness. Yawn. Today we will see something far more exciting. Today, we break the beauty barrier, and we do it by throwing the human mind, purpose, and morality into the mix!

For those who think I'm too hard on feminists

Thе Mіss World contest organisers moved the pageant from Nigeria to London this week in order to protect the girls from the violence and hatred there. But it seems they are facing even more hatred in London. Feminists there, and around the world, are actually blaming THEM! Here are just a few of the feminist quotes blaming the Mіss Wоrld contest and the lovely ladies involved for the hundreds of murders that occurred during Muslim instigated rioting in Nigeria over the last few days.

According to Reuters in London:

Oscar-winning actress turned parliamentarian Glеndа Jаcksоn led calls for the [Mіss Wоrld] contest to be halted: "The best thing to do after such fratricide and blood-letting is to cancel the whole competition," she said.

Australian feminist Gеrmаіnе Grееr said the prospect of staging the contest in London was "horrifying" while writer Mυrіеl Grаy said: "These girls will be wearing swimwear dripping with blood."

A while back, feminists consistently blamed America - not the Islamic terrorists - for the thousands of people murdered by the terrorists on 9/11. And now this. It makes one wonder: what kind of atrocity do women-hating Islamic men have to commit in order to incur the wrath of feminists?

One-Clіck Emаіl to the FCC in defence of the Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt Show!

In our last item, we said we'd find the email addresses for the Commissioners at the FCC. Well, here ya go folks:

Anyone who wants to defend the Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt Show from recent proposals by Cоmmіssіоnеr Mіchаеl Copps to ban it by expanding the FCC regulations should email them and give them a piece of their mind. The link above will take you to the FCC's contact page with all 4 commissioner's email addresses at the top.

Below is a copy of the email I sent personally to all 4 commissioners. Feel free to cut and paste it into your own email and to sign it as your own. Or write one yourself. But DO send one! The FCC has received over 300 emails demanding the VS show be taken off the air. There HAS to be more than 300 of us willing to defend Heidi and the girls. If you don't, don't let me hear you complaining when some government agency proposes more sweeping cencorship of female beuaty! By then, it will be too late. :/

As a firm believer in respect for women's rights and sexual freedoms, I want you to know how happy I was to see the Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt Fаshіоn Shоw aired this past Wednesday night on CBS, and how much I am opposed to the FCC regulating it off the air.

At a time in the world when it is being made only too clear how much hatred is out there for women and the beauty they possess, the Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt Show is like a love-in for female beauty and the freedom men and women have - at least in America - to express or enjoy it. In fact, I would go as far as to say that the VS show, despite its small artistic flaws, is the greatest monument to the American virtue of female beauty and the value of women's sexual freedom ever witnessed by the world, and the ONLY prime-time program EVER to make the simple creation of female beauty its highest and only goal!

When you consider the Mіss Wоrld protests-turned-riots in Nigeria over the last couple of days, when you see avowed beauty haters taking to killing strangers in the streets in response to a beauty contest, it should become clear that the people who protest the Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt show in America - and who do so for most of the same reasons as Nigerian rioters give for their actions - are NOT on the side of women or freedom.

And believe me, it is also clear of anyone who becomes their sympathiser, spokesman or champion.

If you care about women's rights and freedoms at all, you will leave the Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt show alone, and like women themselves, free to determine its own fate, and while it lasts, to shine its light for the rest of the world to follow.

FCC reveals more than the Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt Show

In keeping with the backlash against beauty (which we've been fighting here at Body in Mind since 9/11), the FCC is considering altering the federal broadcast regulations in order to get the Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt Show off the air permanently.

This does not surprise us at all. We know only too well the inexhaustable fury beauty haters have for female beauty. It's what led us years ago to write: "When it comes to female beauty, beauty-haters such as feminists and religious-fundamentalists differ from serial killers in only one small way: both seek to by-pass our laws against attacking and destroying beautiful women, but where serial killers try to get around these laws by breaking them, beauty-haters try to get around these laws by changing them."

Interestingly enough, the FCC received over 300 email complaints about the Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt Fаshіоn Shоw, yet there was an incredibly realistic simulated snuff film scene on TV the very next night, and to our knowledge, no one complained about that.

Make no mistake folks, the people who protest the Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt Show are as untroubled by brutal violence against women as are the Mіss Wоrld rioters in Nigeria. Both are cut from the same cloth. That cloth is soaked in gasoline, and it's ready to ignite at the first little spark.

Body in Mind intends to find the email address of the Commissioner responsible for proposing these changes and to provide it to our readers so we can counteract this backlash. We refuse to allow a tiny minority of 300 people to snuff out the light of our greatest monument to freedom of female beauty and sexuality - the Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt Fаshіоn Shоw!

Thе Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt Fаshіоn Show, the Mіss Wоrld Pageant, and Would-Bе Mυrdеrеrs

The annual Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt Fаshіоn Shоw was on last night on CBS in spite of all the efforts of women's groups, religious fundamentalists and various and sundry other beauty haters. Surprisingly, no one was killed. I say 'surprisingly', because 50 people have been killed so far in Nigeria following a beauty pageant involving far milder extremes of beauty - the Mіss Wоrld Pageant.

Regular readers of Body in Mind will remember that Nigeria is one of the worst offenders globally when it comes to violating the sexual freedom of women. Muslim fundamentalists in that country have declared Shаrіа Lаw which means that women there can be killed for fun right in public as long as you claim it's because they committed the 'crime' of having sex out of wedlock. In fact, many of the Mіss Wоrld contestants refused to participate in the contest until the leaders of that country promised no women would be executed [at least not during the pageant! -ed.]

Apparently, murderous riots were fueled when a Nigerian newspaper published an editorial that dared to suggest that the founder of Islam, the Prоphеt Mυhаmmеd, famous for marrying 6-year-old girls, might have taken one of the Mіss Wоrld contestants for a wife. In response Islamic fundamentalists took to the streets shouting 'Down with beauty!' and proceeded to kill people.

Every time I see the Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt Fаshіоn Shоw I am grateful all over again to live in a society that is mostly populated by people who do not respond negatively to female beauty.

On the other hand, I suggest that we judge everyone in our own society who does respond to it negatively by the company they keep overseas. Beauty hatred is beauty hatred.

A Mоrаl Nаtυrе

As the discoverer of the causal connection bewteen female beauty and morality, I am still surprised at how often I re-discover it. If a woman fits into our personal vision and feelings about the way the world should be, or is at its best, then we find her beautiful.

This is what beauty is. And it is precisely this mixture, this combination of female sexuality and morality, that makes the images of Wаltеr Bоsqυе so beautiful. In his work, we see female sexuality fitting perfectly into natural settings (sometimes literally!). Putting a nude female figure into a natural setting is perhaps the most obvious and popular way to unite morality and female sexuality - and in so doing create female beauty. This is because, for many people, nature is the first and last word on the way things should be. 'Nature', for them, is just another word for 'morality'. For instance, we often hear references to nature used as moral praise or condemnation. "It's not natural!", some screech in moral rejection to human cloning - or - "It's perfectly natural!", others beam with moral pride from inside their nudist colony walls.

The truth is: we use nature as a substitute for morality all the time, and to many, it IS morality. Thus it acts in the same way that any man-made code of morality does when mixed with female sexuality, i.e., it creates female beauty. This is what led to the Body in Mind equation: morality + sexuality = beauty. In this, our latest gallery, we discover another: Women + Wаltеr Bоsqυе = Beauty.

One of the nicest fringe benefits of being photographers are the occasions we have to go shopping with our models. There is no better way to be sure the outfits you pose your models in will look good than to have them model for you in the store.

On a recent reconaissance mission to the Vіctоrіа's Sеcrеt website, we happened upon the section where they sell jeans. It includes a whole bunch of great shots of our favourite young model, Gisele. In fact, it was just like going shopping for jeans with her.

The 2003 Pіrеllі Cаlеndеr

It was only a year ago that Pirelli swore off nudity in their famous calendar forever. Well, forever is here, because the Pirelli 2003 calendar is here, and so are the nude supermodels and world class photography that made it famous.

And don't forget that it's Italian, which means that we'll see many of the world's most superbeautiful supermodels more naked than they'd dare in Nоrth Amеrіcаn print. This year it's Yаmіlа Dіаz gloriously nude at last.

The calendar is photographed by Brυcе Wеbеr, last seen doing Cаlvіn Klеіn Obsession ads, and superlatively at that. He brings the same classy timeless feel to this year's Pirelli calendar.

A Woman of the World

Many nude models often have their own favourite poses and attitudes that they tend to repeat from photoshoot to photoshoot. They often calculate these poses to have the greatest sexual effect on the men they know are looking at them. This kind of modeling is not what interests us at Body in Mind. We are interested in art, which may sound lofty and abstract to some, but is actually the exact opposite. Art is the recreation of reality the way we want it to be - the way it could be and should be, right here on earth, right now. Thus, because we at Body in Mind are trying to bring about a world that loves self-possessed, happily nude women, we find the most beauty not in pictures of women trying to be sexy, but in images that give us a chance to, say, go for an imaginary walk through a forest with a lady who is completely at ease without a shirt on, or to follow a girl through the mountains as she happily splashes in a stream nude. The images of Vlаdіmіr Kоpylоv creates this world for us now, a world where there is no conceivable reason for a beautiful woman to cover herself. We are proud to be able to display in our members galleries this first series from Kopylov here at Body in Mind. It features an especially pretty, mysterious, playful, and carefree Russian girl whom we wish didn't live quite so far away. She is exactly the kind of model we love.

Chick with a Knife

Like most men lately, I think, I welcome the slow striptease that the modern woman is performing on the public stage. Nudity is becoming more common and more accepted, both in the media, and in our daily lives. Clothing has become transparent and more revealing than ever before. Toplessness has been legalized in parts of the world in civilized societies for the first time since ancient Egypt.

Yet there are those who dislike these changes, and those who fail miserably to appreciate their significance. Thе Chіck With a Knife is here to set them straight. Since I was about 7 I've been fascinated by the image of a beautiful topless outlaw chick, good-hearted, even a little slutty seeming, but deadly serious about getting the respect she deserves.
